A Hannah line

This morning Rodney was blowing raspberries on Hannah's tummy when she told him "I don't want raspberry jam on my tummy!" Made us both laugh :)

The chickens are laying!

Yesterday we found our first egg in the nest! Once they all start, we gonna have eggs coming outta our ears!

We originally got 4 chicks. Then Murdoch's were giving them away (yes, free!) 'cause they were getting too big. So we got 4 more (a couple months after the first purchase). Then this summer Rodney's uncle and aunt asked if we wanted a hen and 6 chicks that she had hatched. Thought that would be cool for Hannah, but we didn't get up there to pick 'em up before the hen kicked them outta the nest. The other day Dale and Marie dropped the chicks off on their way to Bonita's. So that brings us to a total of 14 (FOURTEEN!?) chickens. We don't go through 14 eggs a day! However, some of the new chicks may be roosters. Maybe get some fried chicken outta the deal! :)

TMI?

Sorry if this is too much information...well, I suppose you could just not read it. Anyway, I've decided that I will post about Hannah's big girl accomplishment on here so that when I'm old(er) and gray, I can (read this and) tell her the answer when she asks me questions about when she was young.

Hannah got interested in using the toilet before Nicole was born but...yeah, that went to the wayside after she arrived. Off and on since then she'd do ok, but she liked wearing her princess pullups. And I wasn't ready to clean up after her if I made her wear underwear. That brings us to last Friday...I ordered more pullups (diapers.com is awesome! I don't have to go anywhere!) and later that day, Hannah said that she wanted to wear underwear. And just like that, she preferred her Tuna (hello kitty) underwear over princess pullups.

Wow. That was easy.

And she's been doing great ever since! A few accidents, but hey...I'll take the few that occur over having to change more stinky diapers :)

And here's the cat that started the Hello Kitty fad for Hannah:

Trip to MN in July

In between haying we took a quick trip to MN in mid-July to see my folks. Got up early Saturday morning and arrived there that evening. The girls did really good considering spending all day in the car. This time through we decided to stop at Salem, ND and see the cow (gave all of us a break from a screaming toddler in the car).
Hiking up to meet Salem Sue

Ok, Dad, it's my turn to drive. You can ride in the back.

Loving up on Drina's kittens. They learned to run and hide when they saw this girl coming!

This place and people are too far away

                                                           You looking at me?

Gettin' a ride from ol' Petey.

                                                   Snuggle time with Grandpa Harlan

Got to meet Austin and Brittany's little boy Dynlee when he was only a week old! He's #15 for the Young side of the family!

And then it was time to go again. Left Wednesday morning and got home that night. Never long enough, but glad we were able to make it back!

Will see how this goes...

How do you get a blog rolling? I don't have a great first post.

Oh look, now it's started. Done.

I've been informed quite a few times that H & N aren't our girls, they're Grandma and Grandpa's girls. Now we know how we rate. And  you understand the title.

Since the firstborn is trying to be helpful, I'm gonna sign off for now.

Here's a message from Hannah. What it means, I haven't a clue.
