2 years old (3-12)

We've had a two year old in the house for a while now. Most of the time, she's still the sweet lovable little girl she always has been, but sometimes the "terrible twos" peek out. Oh boy. Here we go again! :)

While Nicole doesn't say many words (must come with having a big sister who does all the talking!), she's still quite good at getting her point across. She likes to watch "Signing Time" and has picked up quite a few signs, which the doctor says we can count as words. I was a bit worried since she's not talking as much as what Hannah was at this age, but the doctor wasn't too worried about it. We could have a speech therapist check her out if we wanted to, but we'll see how it goes. She knows what things are and doesn't miss anything, so she'll probably just start talking in sentences one day outta the blue. We try to get her to say a word, but nope. She's not gonna do it.

She's still quite attached to her thumb. In it goes when she's tired, needs comfort, gets in trouble. She's not much on being rocked to sleep anymore (even though I will still do it if she's not calming down), she prefers to just lay down on her big girl bed. But she still wants "Mum" to lay with her. Since she's been a baby she likes to rub my eyebrow while she falls asleep. She would prefer to play with my eyelashes, but ouch!

For the most part, her and Hannah get along. Best of buds and worst of enemies, as siblings should be, right? :) She likes to be outside, helps with chores, enjoys playing with stickers and coloring, squishing up play-doh, swinging/sliding, running in circles, likes to pick out her outfits and is starting to un/dress herself a bit, playing with dollies, wearing mom's high heels, looking at books/magazines, being read to and lots of other things that I'm drawing a blank on at the moment.

Some words she knows how to say: Mom, Dad, Ish (that's what she calls Hannah), kitty, hand, oh / oooooooh (her favorite word lately), up, awww, baby, ow, feet, hay, bubble and others that aren't coming to mind at the moment.

At her two year check up last month she was 34 3/4" and 26 lbs, long and skinny with a big head. :) Lots of smarts, we say!

End of March her two year molars poked through. She's been an easy teether, so didn't know it until I noticed them one time brushing her teeth. But she did have some restless night around that time. She would come crawling, literally, into our room. Either fall asleep on the floor or crawl into bed with us.

Loves to point to her belly button and sign "baby". Both girls have a baby in their belly :) Sometimes it's twins.

Recognizes the letter "o" and can write it. Not sure why she latched unto that letter, but it is in her name. Likes to sign the number 3 and likes to say she's that old. :)

Sometimes she's Daddy's girl and sometimes she's Mommy's girl.

We sure do love your full-face smile, infectious giggle, sweet little kisses, tight hugs - you're our loveable little Nicole! Bring on the terrible, terrific twos!
